The students in 2M transplanted their watermelon and pumpkin seeds to the Redwood School Garden this week. With the help of Ms. Shustak students learned how to properly remove their plants from milk cartons and place them into the soil. What a great gardening experience for the children!
An idea germinated from a grant from Slow Food of NNJ as an initiative to combat childhood obesity and to inspire environmental education, led to view an unutilized courtyard as a classroom. We are immensely grateful to all generous supporters, donors, who donated time, talent, resources, cash, gifts or something else. All selflessly gave to benefit and to inspire sustainability. The School With Heart looks forward to nurturing more tasty crops and inquisitive young minds in the coming seasons.
